To be used if the computers are on the same network. This method allows you to run Farm Report simultaneously on multiple computers.
Initial Set Up
- Create a folder Farm Report in a location visible to all of the computers (a shared network location)
- Put Farm Report.jar in the shared folder Farm Report
- On the first computer
- Run Farm Report (by double-clicking on Farm Report.jar in the shared folder Farm Report)
- Use the Set Directory option to set the data directory to the shared folder Farm Report
- Farm Report will write its data file to the shared folder Farm Report
- Use Farm Report normally, it will update its data to the shared folder Farm Report
- On the other computer(s)
- Run Farm Report (by double-clicking on Farm Report.jar in the shared folder Farm Report)
- Use the Set Directory option to set the data directory to the shared folder Farm Report
- You will be asked to "Choose Data File", click Replace
- Farm Report will read the data file from the shared folder Farm Report
- Use Farm Report normally, it will update its data to the shared folder Farm Report
Going Forward
Once you have completed the initial set up process on a given computer, you can run Farm Report again on that computer by just double-clicking on Farm Report.jar in the shared folder. You do not need to do the Set Directory step again.
