To be used if the computers are not on the same network, but you have access to cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). This method allows you to run Farm Report simultaneously on multiple computers.
Initial Set Up
- Put Farm Report.jar on each computer
- Create a folder Farm Report in your cloud storage folder
- On the first computer
- Run Farm Report
- Use the Set Directory option to set the data directory to the cloud storage folder Farm Report
- Farm Report will write its data file to the cloud storage folder Farm Report
- Use Farm Report normally, it will update its data to the cloud storage folder Farm Report
- On the other computer(s)
- Run Farm Report
- Use the Set Directory option to set the data directory to the cloud storage folder Farm Report
- You will be asked to "Choose Data File", click Replace
- Farm Report will read the data file from the cloud storage folder Farm Report
- Use Farm Report normally, it will update its data to the cloud storage folder Farm Report
Going Forward
Once you have completed the initial set up process on a given computer, you can run Farm Report again on that computer by just double-clicking on Farm Report.jar. You do not need to do the Set Directory step again.
